The BBC has reported that London Mayor Sir Sadiq Khan is expected to attend MIPIM, the international property conference, for the first time this March.
Previous mayors Ken Livingstone and Boris Johnson attended the conference for international developers and investors, to promote investment in the capital, but Sir Sadiq has so far chosen not to go during his eight years in office.
The BBC's report suggests that the Mayor's potential attendance reflects the Labour government’s focus on economic growth and, with London facing a severe shortage of affordable housing, the event would provide an opportunity for the mayor to engage with developers and investors who could help tackle the crisis.
City Hall has not yet commented on whether Sir Sadiq will make the trip.
