Dominvs Group hires new Planning Director to generate growth into new property categories

Dominvs Group, the fast-growing London-based property developer, has appointed Ian Fergusson as its new Planning Director. Joining from Barton Willmore, Fergusson joins the company with immediate effect.

The appointment is a renewed signal of Dominvs Group’s ambition to expand into new areas of real estate, as it tools up its top team for diversification and growth. It comes after the appointment of its new CFO, Ian Trinder, who joined from later-living developer Pegasus Life, and its new Commercial Director, Adam Ratzker, who joined from Galliard Group.

Fergusson was previously with Barton Willmore, where he promoted residential, mixed-use,  co-living, , and commercial developments. Whilst at Barton Willmore, he notably advised Galliard Homes and Princeton Investments on their planning application for a 250 home, 15-storey co-living scheme, which became the first co-living scheme to be backed by the Mayor of London.

Having previously spent more than 10 years at Turley, he has advised housebuilders, institutional investors and pension funds, as well as niche developers and landowners across all sizes and types of scheme. At Dominvs, he will be responsible for setting planning strategies, delivering planning application schemes, and identifying new opportunities for growth across the full range of property classes.

The announcement further positions Dominvs Group for Joint Venture partnerships with other developers, investors, and operators as it continues to pursue new development opportunities both within and beyond its London heartland in private residential, student, co-living, retirement, and build-to-rent.

Ian Fergusson, Planning Director at Dominvs Group, said: “I’m thrilled to be joining Dominvs Group at this time. The company is bringing together an amazing top-calibre team, and I’m looking forward to working on the vast range of projects in the Dominvs pipeline as well as being involved from the very start of the development process.”

Sukhpal Singh Ahluwalia, founder of Dominvs Group, added: “I’m delighted to welcome Ian to Dominvs Group. His creativity and experience across the full sweep of the planning process will be critical to our success as we seek to enter the next chapter of our growth story.”
