European Green Logistics Space (EGLS), the pan-European sustainable logistics real estate developer, investor and asset manager, has strengthened its UK team with the appointment of industrial and logistics veteran Mike Forster as head of development.
Forster joins from Rockleaze Developments, the industrial and logistics development company he founded and brings more than 35 years’ experience in industrial and commercial real estate. Before founding Rockleaze, he led UK operations for Trammell Crow Company and P3 Logistics Parks, and was a director of iSec UK, the industrial property investment and development arm of the Marcol Group.
As Managing Director, Development UK at EGLS, Forster will lead UK development activity, focusing on the delivery of new sustainable logistics facilities and the upgrading of existing assets to meet the highest environmental standards. His appointment forms part of the continued expansion of the UK team alongside Simon Stacey, European Head of Asset Management and Managing Director, UK, as EGLS grows its development pipeline and operational capabilities.
The UK team now includes Amos Chia, EGLS’s London-based Chief Investment Officer, senior associate Edgar Simmons, associate Philip Ho, senior analyst Tam Nguyen and analyst Toby Last. The appointment follows EGLS’s recent expansion into Spain, where the company opened offices in Madrid and Barcelona to support its growing logistics portfolio across southern Europe.
Ian Worboys, CEO of EGLS, said: “Mike’s appointment marks another important step in the growth of our UK business. His experience in delivering high-quality, sustainable logistics schemes and his deep understanding of the UK market make him a perfect fit for EGLS. Under Simon’s leadership, our UK team is now extremely well placed to capitalise on opportunities in one of Europe’s most dynamic logistics markets”.
Mike Forster, Managing Director, Development UK, added: “EGLS has quickly established itself as one of Europe’s most forward-thinking logistics real estate platforms, with sustainability and long-term value creation at its core. I’m excited to be joining such an experienced and ambitious team, and to help grow the UK portfolio through the delivery of modern, energy-efficient logistics space”.
EGLS operates across the UK, France, Germany, Austria, Czechia, Slovakia, Poland and Spain, with a strategy focused on creating and repositioning logistics assets to meet the highest environmental and operational standards.
