Russell Markham has been appointed as SHW’s new managing partner with effect from 1 April 2021. He will take over from Martin Clark who is returning to his client and market-facing role within SHW’s agency division, primarily dealing with office agency and investment.
SHW’s senior partner Adam Godfrey said: “Martin’s contribution as managing partner has been immense over the last 10 years, and he leaves us in great shape and with a sound strategy for growth. I am looking forward to our continuing journey under Russell’s stewardship, drawing on his wealth of experience of our clients and markets. I am also looking forward to working with Russell and the management team as we continue to adapt to the ever-changing property landscape.”
Russell Markham joined SHW in 2002 and is an equity partner. He was appointed head of building consultancy in 2009 and has since helped to increase the division’s turnover to £3m pa and built a stable and successful team. He has also become an integral part of SHW’s senior management team.
Russell lives in Sussex and, when not managing building projects, enjoys mountain biking and coaching a local youth football team.
Russell said of his appointment: “I am honoured to take on this important role within SHW and want to thank Martin for all his efforts over the last 10 years. Whilst the business environment is tough and demanding, there is a great deal of change ahead which will bring opportunities for growth. I am a firm believer that providing quality advice to our clients to ‘make their property work’ is key to our continued success, especially when delivered via motivated and engaged staff.”
