Soller Real Estate, the Soho based property developer and investment company, has let office space at 52 Bedford Row, London to WeWork, boosting the shared workspace provider’s presence in the capital's midtown market.
The former HQ of legal firm Wedlake Bell was acquired by Soller Real Estate earlier this year and has been taken by WeWork. WeWork will be undertaking a fit-out of the building's lower ground, ground and five upper floors and plans to open the new facility in Q4 this year. The office space will be available to occupiers on a floor-by-floor basis.
Nick Treadaway, CEO of Soller Real Estate, said: "WeWork continues to transform the office market and 52 Bedford Row provided a great opportunity to collaborate on a project that will create a superb working environment for companies of all sizes in this vibrant part of London.
“We look forward to working with WeWork again in the future,” he added.
Mary Finnigan, Head of Transactions, WeWork EMEA said: "Located in the heart of London’s midtown, Bedford Row marks an important development as WeWork continues to expand its London portfolio. We’re seeing growing demand for this new way of working, and look forward to welcoming over 500 members across this new seven floor location, and to our thriving community of 50,000 members across the UK and Ireland.
“I’m confident that both present and future members will benefit from our increased footprint in London. Situated nearby many other WeWork buildings, this new workspace will bring countless opportunities for them to collaborate and network."
WeWork was advised on the acquisition by Kontor.
